Strengthening primary health care: the key to tackling non-communicable diseases and achieving universal health coverage and healthy ageing

Policy brief of the research project Scaling Up NCD Interventions in Southeast Asia. This policy brief describes comprehensive actions to improve community-based healthcare and primary healthcare, to improve screening, early diagnosis and treatment of NCDs. There are different strategies possible, working with community groups and working with outreach programmes to involve people in prevention of NCDs. It is important that local authorities continue commitment to sustain such initiatives.
